Staff Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations in a high-volume retail/distribution environment. This role will be responsible for general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and full-cycle AP/AR functions. The ideal candidate is hands-on, deadline-driven, and comfortable working within an ERP system.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, accruals, and month-end close
• Prepare and complete GL reconciliations and resolve discrepancies timely
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions
• Support high-volume transaction processing in a retail/distribution setting
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities
• Analyze financial data and support reporting requirements
• Maintain and organize accounting records in compliance with company policies
• Utilize Excel for reconciliations, reporting, and data analysis
• Work within an ERP system to ensure accuracy and efficiency
• Collaborate with internal departments to support business operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 4+ years of accounting experience
• Experience in a high-volume retail or distribution environment
• Strong knowledge of General Ledger, AP, and AR
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP preferred)
• Experience working with an ERP system
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
